Chalk Hill White – Case (6x Bottles)
If you’ve always enjoyed our driest white wine, then we would definitely recommend buying a case of our Chalk Hill White. The six bottles will arrive in our branded packaging, meaning you can choose to leave them in there, or display the beautiful bottles elsewhere.
The geography of our small village is actually rather interesting. The valleys on which most of our land belongs are steep, and incredibly chalky. While unsuitable for the cereal crops we had been accustomed to producing, this particular terrain is the perfect combination for vines, who require a good drainage system to keep the roots healthy.

Tasting notes
This wine conjures aromas such as lime and grapefruit and has a crisp finish. Chalk Hill White has a dry finish, this is a result of our unique location in Yorkshire, where limited sunlight means the grapes are unable to develop sugar levels such as the ones seen in Europe or even the south of England.
Winemaking & Ageing
The grapes are picked and pressed within 48 hours to ensure quality and minimise loss as it sits. We aim to press all our varieties separately to give us maximum choice later down the line. The must undergoes fermentation in stainless steel tanks, before being left for six months. The wine then undergoes blending trials, completed by Alice, Tom, Henry and a handful of the LWV team. To create Chalk Hill White, we usually blend three of our varieties: Seyval Blanc, Madeleine Angevine, and Phoenix. It is bottled here in South Cave, and left to rest for a couple of months before it makes its way onto your table.
Pairing
The driest of our white wine range, Chalk Hill White is a natural pairing with vegetable-based dishes. And with all our wines being vegan, why not try this with a plant-based dish? Meals inspired by the Mediterranean, such as falafel or stuffed vine leaves, will pair well with the fresh lime and grapefruit notes Chalk Hill White has to offer. Poultry dishes also suit this particular wine, so any recipe that calls for the chicken to be cooked with white wine or lemon is a great option.
What a surprise! The Chalk Hill White is a really pleasant dry white. A lovely flavour.

FAQ
How often do you hold your events?
Our events are generally held at least monthly if not more depending on the time of year. We try to advertise dates around 3 months in advance.
How much wine will I consume on my visit?
Each wine sample is generally around 50-75ml. If you would like a spittoon during your visit, please let a member of the team know.
Can I bring my dog?
We are a dog friendly venue, but always ask that they are kept on a lead and that owners are respectful of other guests who may not like your fury friends as much as we do. We also polite request they DO NOT sit on our furniture.
What happens if I change my mind and can’t attend on the day I have booked?
Sadly we cannot change dates that have been booked for a whole host of reasons. If you are unable to attend an event you are booked on to, we advise you give us as much notice as possible and we will add them back to the system and try resell the tickets. If they do not sell the full amount will be lost. More can be read in our Ts &Cs.
Can I gift events?
We advise that people buy one of our ‘gift cards’ rather than booking a specific event. This means rather than loose the booking if they cannot attend, that they can book a date that works for them OR purchase wine.
Can I leave my car after the event?
While you are allowed to leave cars, they are done so at the owners risk. The properties gates will also be locked when the staff leave and are only open during opening house Please ensure you (or your guests) check what the opening times are on the day following your event.
