Poppy Hill Rosé – Case (6x Bottles)
If you have a particular penchant for Poppy Hill Rosé, why not purchase a case? Six beautiful bottles of blushing wine, which can be gifted or kept to enjoy over time. Poppy Hill Rosé has won multiple awards over the years, and has always been popular with our customers. The 2023 vintage was made in South Cave, and is the first rosé wine to be produced in our winery.

Tasting notes
Whilst Poppy Hill Rosé is considered a dry wine, it packs plenty of berry punch, reminiscent of an English summertime. The sharp finish will dazzle you, and you’ll notice the citrus notes that are left after trying this wine.
Winemaking & Ageing
The grapes are picked and pressed within 48 hours to ensure quality and minimise loss as it sits. In 2023, we used both whole bunch and destemmed grapes to produce Poppy Hill Rosé. From here the must ferments in stainless steel tanks, before being left for six months. The wine then undergoes blending trials, completed by Alice, Tom, Henry and a handful of the LWV team. Our Rondo grapes are known to produce a deep blush, and therefore we have often blended some of our white grapes into the rosé blend to help create a paler pink. It is bottled here in South Cave, and left to rest for a couple of months before it makes its way onto your table.
Pairing
As is the case with many of our wines, Poppy Hill Rosé is also a drier wine. This flavour profile makes it ideal for both Moroccan and Indian dishes, with plenty of spice and aromatics of their own. Try pairing our rosé with a meze filled with savoury pastries, like the briouat which is typically filled with a spiced meat or cheese, and a selection of salads. Equally, a fresh and vegetable-focused Greek-inspired dish would suit the wine’s aromas of hedgerow fruits, for a pairing perfect for the summer months.
Lovely; smooth, delicate and just dry enough. Highly recommend.

FAQ
How often do you hold your events?
Our events are generally held at least monthly if not more depending on the time of year. We try to advertise dates around 3 months in advance.
How much wine will I consume on my visit?
Each wine sample is generally around 50-75ml. If you would like a spittoon during your visit, please let a member of the team know.
Can I bring my dog?
We are a dog friendly venue, but always ask that they are kept on a lead and that owners are respectful of other guests who may not like your fury friends as much as we do. We also polite request they DO NOT sit on our furniture.
What happens if I change my mind and can’t attend on the day I have booked?
Sadly we cannot change dates that have been booked for a whole host of reasons. If you are unable to attend an event you are booked on to, we advise you give us as much notice as possible and we will add them back to the system and try resell the tickets. If they do not sell the full amount will be lost. More can be read in our Ts &Cs.
Can I gift events?
We advise that people buy one of our ‘gift cards’ rather than booking a specific event. This means rather than loose the booking if they cannot attend, that they can book a date that works for them OR purchase wine.
Can I leave my car after the event?
While you are allowed to leave cars, they are done so at the owners risk. The properties gates will also be locked when the staff leave and are only open during opening house Please ensure you (or your guests) check what the opening times are on the day following your event.
